Face Mask Making competition conducted on Saturday, 1st July 2023, for the students of Grade I & II to build their crafting skills. It is a fun way to boost the creativity of the students and evoke in them “a sense of appreciation for beauty”.
Thirukkural recitation competition was conducted on 5th of August 2023 in Preprimary block for the Grade 1 & 2 students. Thirukkural is a work that has an immense influence on Tamil culture and life. The students were given oppurtunity to inculcate thirukkural in their life.
A fancy dress competition not only blends learning with fun but also develops confidence in students by giving them an opportunity to speak in front of their own classmates.Children participated with a lot of enthusiasm and displayed their confidence while speaking. Their innocent words and stage presence won the hearts of teachers and judges.The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.
In order to bring out the creative talents of students and celebrate the Festival of Lights in its true spirit, the Diya making competition for Grades 1 and 2 was held on 10th November 2023.The main objective of this competition was to explore the students’ imagination and creativity. Most of the students participated enthusiastically in the competition.
On the 5th of August 2023, Grades 3 to 8 at Vel’s Vidhyalaya showcased their linguistic prowess through the Tamil Elocution and Essay Writing competitions. The young orators delved into captivating topics such as personal aspirations, environmental conservation, and self-expression. The older students exhibited their flair for the written word, exploring themes ranging from the importance of perseverance, individual leadership, and the benefits and drawbacks of societal food habits. The thought-provoking essays reflected not only linguistic prowess but also critical thinking skills.
On November 24th 2023, a riveting English Elocution event unfolded for grades 6 to 8, providing a platform for students to articulate their thoughts on thought-provoking topics. The themes ranged from “Exploring the Wonders of Space Exploration” to the perennial debate of “Hard Work vs Smart Work” and the modern dilemma of “E-book vs Paper Book.” Culminating with the impactful phrase “Actions Speak Louder Than Words,” each topic sparked insightful reflections.
Beyond the classroom, the Quiz Club extends its reach, actively participating in competitions outside the school premises. This not only hones their skills but also provides a platform for these young minds to showcase their talents on a broader stage.We offered a trial method quiz session for the children to soar beyond. Vel’s Vidhyalaya is sowing the seeds for a generation that understands that learning knows no bounds and the sky is an open canvas for their intellectual exploration
In a creative celebration of resourcefulness, Vel’s Vidhyalaya hosted a Puppet Making Competition for the imaginative minds of Grades III to V on November 4, 2023. The challenge was to craft enchanting puppets using unconventional materials, such as newspapers, ice cream sticks, gloves, old clothes, and repurposed toys. The winning puppeteers showcased not only artistic finesse but also a commendable commitment to sustainability
In a burst of creativity, Grades VI to VIII joined forces for a Face Painting Competition on November 4, 2023. Each grade embraced a unique theme, transforming faces into vibrant canvases.Grade 6 artists depicted favourite animals like tigers, pandas, and butterflies, blending imagination with intricate strokes. Grade 7 ventured into the cosmos, adorning faces with stars, planets, and playful aliens. Grade 8 embraced a futuristic vibe, crafting robotic wonders with metallic hues and intricate gear designs. Judges faced the delightful challenge of selecting the best two teams from each class, honouring creativity and teamwork.
Stories always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of physical world. Competitions are the best way to boost the confidence in children. Keeping this in mind, a storytelling competition was conducted for Grades 1 and 2 on 22 November 2023.
Our little rockers, with the voices sweet and costume bright, they turned the stage into a lyrical delight. The kid’s performance made the competition a melodious treat. Our peculiar penguins dressed up for their rhyme theme and used the props.
Giggles and wiggles, our little champions twisted their tongues in the tongue-twister competition. It contributes to a well-rounded education, addressing various aspects of language, cognitive and social development. Munchkins of KG came up with many variety of tongue twisters which was mesmerized. KG wonders rocked the tongue twister maze.
Students from Grade III to VIII showcased their artistic brilliance in a Poster Making event. Embracing creativity, participants selected their own topics from the given options. The event saw the selection of the best three posters from each class, highlighting the unique perspectives and talents of our students.
A parade of joy celebrated the diversity of cultures with the adorable presentation by our little ones, as they brought all the state to the stage in a delightful and educational way. They dressed up like different states in India. Through their appealing voices, these little ambassadors bring to life the uniqueness and beauty of each state, making our cultural journey more delightful.
Clay modeling competition is a wonderful way to nurture creativity and fine motor skills among young children. It was presented by our KG tots with artistic spirit. They fantastically explained about the theme they made. Every kid showcased their creativity like the sun ,moon, insects, rainbow , fruits, and vegetables that various emotions which provides a hands on and engaging experiences that encourages artistic expression from early age.This made the competition richer with their talents.
