Petals of art, in vibrant hues they bloom. Vel’s celebrated Onam festival on 25.08.23. On this grand day Children dressed up in Kerala’s traditional attire, portraying King Mahabali, Vamanar and Tigers.The children also created a beautiful pookalam ,a floral arrangement depicting the theme of Kerala ‘s vallamkali boat and coconut tree. Children sang Malayalam song about Onam and learned about the reason behind the celebration of Onam which broadens childrens’ perspectives, fostering cultural understanding and promoting Unity in Diversity.

Divine graceful little footprints adorn the floor, a tapestry for Krishna’s divine arrival. Tiny Krishnas and Radhas visted Krishna’s temple. Little ones twirl with a gentle grace of dhandiya dance and devotion in their eyes. Tiny hearts fed the cows with compassion in the temple’s serene abode, children sought blessings and their faith bestowed. Little hands shared sweets in a joyous spree in Janmashtami celebration.

Intricate patterns of rangoli on the floor with diyas were made. Our tots came in traditional attire which added more colours to the program. Our little hands lit the diya and placed it in the rangoli was a spectacular one. The flames glowed everywhere spreading divinity in the school. Children prayed with devotion.

As the fragrance of incense fills the air, Vidhyarambham at our school became the sacred union of knowledge and family. On this auspicious day, the parents and the educators join hands, invoking the blessings for a triumphant academic voyage. The Golu arrangement for Dussehra was grandly made. Each step meticulously adorned with dolls and figurines. A special pooja for our new admission students have been done for their great future. Our parents hold the tiny hands of their young ones and wrote the first letter of Tamil that made the Vidhyarambam more divine

In the grand finale of our Kinder Garten chronicles, Graduation day a tapestry of joy and accomplishment. In our Kindergarten kingdom, we celebrate the triumphant graduation of our little stars. In that red graduation dress worn by kids stands out like a vibrant symbol of their journey,a splash of enthusiasm and a promise of colourful futures

Honoured by the presence of our esteemed chief guest whose words of wisdom and encouragement have added an extra layer of inspiration to this memorable graduation. Little graduates got their shield from the chief guest and took group photos with their fellow mates, a cherished memories they have created.

In a display of fervour and determination, eight remarkable individuals contended for the prestigious position of SPL, each embodying a distinctive symbol that spoke volumes about their aspirations.

The culmination of this democratic process crowned Baintamil Chitra from Class XI as the elected SPL, symbolizing the White Pigeon. Simultaneously, the dynamic Sarah Ahana of Class IX emerged victorious as ASPL

The echoes of democracy resonated through Vels Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School as students from grades III to XI exercised their voting rights, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of student governance. The Election Committee diligently counted the votes, and after a few days of anticipation, the results were declared.

Post the election, the remaining nominees found their place in various leadership roles, aligning with their unique achievements. The honour of wearing leadership badges was bestowed upon these exemplary individuals during the investiture ceremony, graced by the esteemed former Tirunelveli Collector IAS. Karunagaran as the honorable guest.

The day unfolded in two enlightening sessions, tailored to the specific needs of our students. For our vibrant learners , the yogic session unfolded, guided by experts from Esha Yoga. The young yogis immersed themselves in a journey of flexibility and balance, discovering the profound benefits of yoga asanas. Under the expert guidance of Esha Yoga practitioners, the students not only embraced the physical postures but also imbibed the essence of mindfulness and inner tranquility

The instructors from Esha Yoga seamlessly guided them through various asanas, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to health and well-being. Beyond the physical aspects, the session delved into the mental and spiritual dimensions of yoga, encouraging our students to cultivate a harmonious connection between mind and body. The presence of the Esha Yoga team added a unique touch to the celebration, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our students. Their teachings underscored the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life, promoting not only physical fitness but also mental clarity and emotional balance. As the echoes of collective breaths and gentle movements filled our school premises, International Yoga Day became more than a celebration.

DOCTOR’S DAY MEDICAL CAMP AT VELSVIDHYALAYA

In observance of Doctor’s Day, Vel’s Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School took a proactive step towards the well-being of our young scholars. A comprehensive medical camp was conducted exclusively for students in grades 3 to 5, focusing on holistic health assessments. Esteemed professionals from Shifa Hospital graced our school premises to conduct this health-centric initiative. The medical camp addressed various facets of well-being, emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare laid the foundation for fostering healthy lifestyle habits. Dental hygiene, a crucial aspect of overall health, was a focal point of the camp. Expert dentists conducted thorough examinations, imparting valuable knowledge about oral care practices. Students received personalized advice on maintaining optimal oral health, ensuring smiles that radiate well-being. The inclusion of oral hygiene, reflecting our commitment to cultural diversity, added a unique touch to the medical camp. It showcased our dedication to addressing the specific health needs of our diverse student body. As we express gratitude to Shifa Hospital for their invaluable contributions, we recognize the significance of cultivating a health-conscious environment within our school. The Doctor’s Day Medical Camp stands as a testament to our commitment to the holistic development of our students.

Independence Day at our school, on August 15, 2023, unfolded as a vibrant tapestry of cultural pride and patriotic fervour. The day commenced with “Tamil Thaai Vaalthu” and a warm welcome, leading to an enlightening address by our esteemed chief guest, duly honoured for their commitment to freedom. The unfolding of the national flag, accompanied by the resonant “Flag Song” and a solemn pledge, set the stage for a spirited Bharatham dance. Silambam showcased precision, and a Tamil speech emphasized cultural heritage.Yoga, karate displays, and a skit added physical and narrative dimensions to the celebration.

KG students creatively depicted state symbols, while pre-primary students shared inspiring quotes. The atmosphere was further enhanced by a soul stirring patriotic dance performance accompanied by beautiful melodies. As the event drew to a close a collective rendition of the National Anthem.

On the 16th of October, Vel’s Vidhyalaya embraced the spirit of World Food Day with a delightful and inclusive celebration. The children actively participated in this culinary extravaganza, bringing together diverse ingredients to craft an array of delectable dishes without the use of fire.The school premises buzzed with creativity and excitement as our young chefs collaborated to prepare a variety of foods, showcasing their culinary talents. From vibrant salads to refreshing fruit chaats, the spread reflected not only the diversity of flavours but also a commitment to a healthy and sustainable food choices. The highlight of the celebration was the joy of sharing, as the students distributed their culinary creations to everyone present. This communal feast became a symbol of unity, promoting the values of sharing and appreciation for different cuisines.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON ABDUL KALAM’S BIRTHDAY

In commemorating the birthday of Abdul Kalam on 15 October 2023,the children paid heartfelt tribute to the People’s President with a special assembly. The event was a poignant blend of reverence,education,and interaction.Our students took the stage with eloquent English and Tamil speeches, articulating the profound impact and legacy of Dr. Abdul Kalam. The assembly was not just an acknowledgment of his contributions but also a celebration of his ideals and vision

A unique and engaging element was the presence of children who adorned the role of Abdul Kalam.Dressed in his attire reminiscent of the beloved leader, they interacted with their peers, answering questions and clarifying doubts with the same humility and wisdom that characterized Dr.Kalam. The children were provoked with the awe inspiring thoughts

This immersive experience not only educated the students about the life and teachings of Abdul Kalam but also provided a dynamic and interactive platform, allowing them to connect with his spirit. The assembly served as a reminder to uphold the values championed by Dr. Kalam, inspiring the next generation to dream big and contribute to the society.

“FESTIVAL OF LIGHT AND LOVE: DIWALI CELEBRATIONS SPREAD JOY BEYOND BORDERS”

The highlight of the evening was the reciprocal joy generated by the mentally challenged children, who not only sang a song but also danced with an enthusiasm that warmed the hearts of everyone’s present. It was a testament to the universal language of joy that transcends barriers

To add an element of playfulness, engaging games were organized, creating an atmosphere of laughter and shared enjoyment. The festivities reached a sweet crescendo as sweets were distributed, symbolizing the exchange of not just confections but also the sweetness of human connection.

In a heartwarming celebration of Diwali, students from grades 6 to 8 exemplified the true spirit of giving by bringing essential items and sweets to share with their peers at Bishop Seargant mentally retarded school. The event, orchestrated under the benevolent gaze of our school principal, unfolded into a symphony of compassion and camaraderie.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, our principal initiated the program with a heartfelt prayer, setting the tone for an evening filled with joy and togetherness. The students, beacons of empathy, orchestrated a delightful array of performances. The air resonated with the melodious tunes as the children from our school sang soulful songs, swayed to rhythmic dances, and showcased their musical talents, all in an effort to uplift the spirits of their special guests. On September 5, 2023, Vel’s Vidhyalaya echoed with warmth and gratitude as students came together to celebrate Teachers’ Day with heartfelt enthusiasm. The day commenced with a traditional touch as children welcomed their teachers by offering Aarathi, a symbol of reverence and appreciation. To add a playful twist, engaging games were organized for the teachers, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. The cheers and encouragement from the children during the games reflected the deep bond between the students and the teachers. The cultural program was loads of talent, featuring diverse performances. The event kicked off with a soulful prayer song by Ms.Shanmuga Sundari,followed by a mesmerizing dance by pre-primary teachers. Ms.Deepthi showcased her poetic prowess through a beautiful poem recitation, while Mr.Thirumani and Mr.Anjaneyalu stole the spotlight with an energetic dance performance.

The middle department teachers engaged in a thought-provoking debate, showcasing their intellectual prowess. The primary teachers displayed their dance skills, adding a vibrant touch to the celebration. As a token of appreciation, gifts were distributed to the teachers by Correspondent and Director, acknowledging their tireless efforts in shaping young minds.The Teachers’ Day celebration at Vel’s Vidhyalaya was not just an event; it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude and admiration for the educators who play a pivotal role in nurturing the future generation.

“CHILDREN’S DAY EXTRAVAGANZA: SAFETY WORKSHOP, GAMES, AND SWEET MEMORIES”

The spirit of Children’s Day came alive at our school in a day filled with laughter, learning, and camaraderie. To kick off the festivities, a dynamic one-hour workshop centered around safety measures, captivated the young minds, imparting invaluable knowledge that extends beyond the classroom. Following the enlightening workshop, the children were set free to bask in the joy of outdoor play. The school grounds buzzed with energy as all the sections engaged in friendly competitions. Boys showcased their cricket skills, while girls demonstrated their prowess in throwball, fostering teamwork and healthy competition.

Adding a personal touch to the celebration, the class teachers actively participated in the games, creating memorable moments of shared joy. The jubilant atmosphere reached its peak as teachers distributed sweets, spreading happiness and strengthening the bond between educators and students.

“GANESHA CHATURTHI EXTRAVAGANZA: A SYMPHONY OF DEVOTION AND CREATIVITY”

In a grand celebration of Vinayaka Chaturthi, the school witnessed an outpouring of creativity and devotion as children from various classes contributed towards crafting a remarkable array of Ganesha idols. A staggering 108 meticulously crafted idols adorned the premises, each a testament to the students’ artistic flair. Notably, the parents of Baskar (VIII C), Ajishree (VIII B), and Srinithish (VIII C) showcased their exceptional talent by crafting a colossal clay Vinayagar that stood as the centerpiece of the celebration. On the auspicious day, the school reverberated with spiritual energy as a priest was summoned to conduct a sacred pooja for the divine idols. The air was filled with the sweet fragrance of incense, and the sound of hymns echoed through the surroundings, creating a serene ambiance. Following the rituals, the priest distributed prasadam to all the children, symbolizing the divine blessings received during the ceremony.

Vel’s Vidhyalaya radiated with divine splendour during the joyous celebration of Navaratri. Each day brought forth a unique charm as various compartments came together to conduct poojas, enveloping the school in spiritual fervour. The inaugural day witnessed the pure-hearted devotion of the pre-primary team as they led the pooja ceremonies, sharing the blessings by distributing prasadam to all. Following suit, the KG department continued the sacred journey on the second day, infusing the atmosphere with youthful enthusiasm and reverence.As Navaratri unfolded, the primary team tookcharge on the third day, weaving a tapestry of devotion and cultural richness. The fourth day saw the office staff stepping into the sacred role, contributing their earnest prayers and distributing prasadam to the school community

In a heartwarming assembly, the children took the spotlight, delivering the speeches that delved into the profound importance of postal services in connecting hearts and minds. As part of this immersive experience, students not only spoke passionately but also engaged in hands-on activities, crafting personalized post cards and inland letters. The school buzzed with creativity as imaginative post boxes adorned the premises, serving as poignant symbols of communication bridging distances.

The highlight of the day was the delightful transformation of our students into postmen and postwomen, donning costumes that paid homage to the dedicated individuals who facilitate the flow of heartfelt messages.
